Directions to Monmouth County Beach Sweeps Sites
Asbury Park - Convention Hall
From either the Garden State Parkway (Exit 102) or Route 18 (Exit 10) take Asbury Avenue (Route 66) East, less than two miles until it ends at the Atlantic Ocean. Turn left (north) onto Ocean Ave. and go four blocks. Convention Hall is a large building which includes the Paramount Theater. We meet on the south side, at the main entrance to the theatre, near the boardwalk.
Atlantic Highlands
End of First Avenue, Gravel Parking Lot at the Bay.
Avon
Parkway to exit 98 – Rt 138 East. When road splits, stay to left to go on Rt 35 North. Cross bridge, after bridge take right exit toward Avon. Cross overpass bridge and continue straight for several blocks until you reach the ocean. Go left on Ocean Avenue. The Avon Pavilion is two blocks down on the right, on the boardwalk.
Belmar
Garden State Parkway exit 98. After toll go to your far right and take the exit for 138 East. Take 138 East to the end and follow sign for route 35 North/ Belmar. Make right at first light onto 16th Avenue. Stay on 16th Avenue through 2 more traffic lights, all the way to Ocean Avenue. At Ocean Avenue make a left. Take Ocean Avenue to 1st and Ocean - Building is on the right (Building will be on the beach with long fishing pier).
Bradley Beach
Garden State Parkway to exit 100 - Route 33 East. Cross Rt 35, cross railroad tracks. Turn right at the light for Rt 71/Main St. Follow Main St into Bradley Beach and turn left on 5th Avenue. Meet at the Gazebo on the boardwalk at the end of 5th Avenue at Ocean Ave.

Coming from the North:
Take the Garden State Parkway South. Get off at Exit 105 - Rt. 36 toward Rt-35/Eatontown/Long Branch. Merge onto NJ-36 East. Turn Right onto CR-51/Hope Road. Merge onto NJ-18 South toward Pt. Pleasant. Merge onto W. Park Ave. via Exit 12A toward Oakhurst. Turn Right onto Poplar Road. Turn Left onto Deal Road. Turn Right onto CR-15/Monmouth Road. Turn Left onto Roseld Ave.Turn Right onto Ocean Ave. Turn Left onto Darlington Road.
Follow Darlington to its end at the beach
Coming from the South:
Take the Garden State Parkway North. Merge onto NJ-138 E via Exit 98 toward Belmar/Wall Twp./Spring Lake. Merge onto NJ-18 N toward Eatontown. Take the Deal Rd. East exit - Exit 11A. Merge onto Deal Road. Turn Right onto CR-15/Monmouth Rd. Turn Left onto Roseld Ave. Turn Rght onto Ocean Ave.
Turn Left onto Darlington Rd. Follow Darlington to its end at the beach.
Highlands
From Rumson Road (Route 520), go east to end at ocean & traffic light. Turn left onto Ocean Avenue/Route 36 North, and go over Highlands Bridge. Take sharp right immediately after bridge, go down hill, and make left at stop sign onto Bay Ave. Follow Bay Ave to Central Ave. Make right onto Central Ave and go to end. Parking lot and Bay Beach straight ahead. Community Center on right.
From Route 36 East to Highlands. Just before the bridge make a right & immediate left to go down the hill. Make left at stop sign onto Bay Ave. Follow Bay Ave to Central Ave. Make right onto Central Ave and go to end. Parking lot and Bay Beach straight ahead. Community Center on right.
Keansburg
GSP to exit 117 to Rt 36 South/East. Proceed for 4 miles and take the jughandle to Laurel Avenue. Cross over Rt 36 and follow Laurel Ave to the end. Turn right in the first parking lot.
Keyport
GSP to exit 117 to Rt. 36 South/East. Make first jughandle when on Rt. 36 and make a left onto Broad Street. Cross over Rt. 36 and follow Broad Street to the end to boat launch.
Loch Arbour/Allenhurst
Parkway to exit(s) 100A from south or 102 from north, follow signs towards Asbury Park. At Rt 35 traffic circle in Asbury Park proceed north on 35 approximately 1/2 mile (2 lights) to Sunset Ave and turn right on Sunset.
Go to 2nd light which is Wickepecko and turn left. Proceed approx 3 blocks on the right to Grassmere where you turn right. Follow Grassmere to the end at Deal Lake and bear left at circle. Pass over small bridge and make 1st right onto Euclid. Follow Euclid to end at the Ocean and we'll be there!
Long Branch
Garden State Parkway to Exit 105. Take Rt. 36 East to end. Turn right onto Ocean Avenue and follow to Pier Viillage on left. Meet at Turning Point Cafe.
Manasquan
Garden State Parkway to Exit 98, Rt. 34 south becomes Rt. 35 south. Right on Higgins Avenue, left onto Rt. 71 (Union Ave.), right onto Main Street. Take all the way to the beach.
Middletown - East Keansburg/Ideal Beach
GSP to Rt 36 East. Take jug handle @ Thompson Ave, cross over Rt 36. Go to end of Ocean Ave, turn right into parking lot.
Middletown - Leonardo
From GSP North - Exit 114 Holmdel/Middletown - Turn right on to Red Hill Road. After approx. 3/4 mile, turn right on Bamm Hollow Road which becomes Oak Hill Road which becomes Chapel Hill Road. When you come to the "T" turn right onto Kings Highway East. Then 1st left onto Stillwell Road which becomes Hosford Avenue which becomes Thompson Avenue. When you come to the "T" turn left onto Beach Avenue. Leonardo Public Beach is 800 feet down on the right.
From GSP South - Exit 114 Holmdel/Middletown - Turn left when exiting parkway onto Red Hill Road. (see north directions)
Middletown - Port Monmouth
Hwy. 36 in Middletown to Main St., Port Monmouth. Follow Main St. north to Wilson Ave., turn left and continue to end. Turn left onto Port Monmouth Rd and go past Spyhouse, Fishing Pier and ballfields to first right turn (Old Port Monmouth Road). Follow Old Port Monmouth Rd. to end at Monmouth Cove Marina. Turn right into the gravel parking area opposite Marina.
Middletown – Port Monmouth - "The Dunes"
GSP to Rt 36 East. Take jughandle to Pt. Monmouth Rd, cross over Rt 36. Follow to end toward Belford Seafood Loop and look for The Dunes development.
Monmouth Beach
Main Site: Monmouth Beach Pavilion/Beach Club, Ocean Ave. From The GSP, take exit 105, exit onto Rt. 36, continue on Rt. 36 until you reach Ocean Ave. Make a left and continue approximately 1-2 miles, until you see the sign welcoming you to Monmouth Beach. Beach Club is the first main parking lot on the right side of the street.
From the Rumson/Red Bank area, proceed to Ocean Ave. and head south, into Monmouth Beach. Go approximately two blocks after the first light in Monmouth Beach, and see Pavilion on the left.
Public Access Stairwell across from the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center. Beach sweepers can park in the lot adjacent to the cultural center, and walk across the street to the public stairwell. Cultural Center is located on Ocean Ave., at the corner of Ocean and Seacrest.
Ocean Grove/Neptune Township
Garden State Parkway to exit 102 Asbury Park. Follow traffic circle ½ way around and merge onto Asbury Ave. Follow Asbury Ave for a mile or so, cross railroad tracks, turn right onto Main St. Turn left at the light onto Main Ave in Ocean Grove. Take Main Ave to Ocean Ave, turn left onto Ocean Ave. Meet at the pavilion on the right.
Sandy Hook
From the Garden State Parkway - Southbound:Take exit 117. Follow Route 36 east for approximately 12 miles. Cross the Highlands Bridge. Bear Right after bridge, following signs to Sandy Hook. *Proceed through the park on the main road about 3 miles. Parking Lot E is just after the Visitor Center and just before the Ranger Station in the center of the roadway.
From the Garden State Parkway - Northbound:Take exit 105. Follow Route 36 east for approximately 5 miles. When road ends, take a left on to Ocean Avenue. Follow Ocean Avenue approximately 7 miles to Sandy Hook. Follow from * above.
Sea Bright - Mirasol Restaurant
Meet at Mirasol Restaurant on Rt. 36/Ocean Avenue in Sea Bright (344 Ocean Avenue)
Sea Bright - Anchorage/Ferguson Beach Parking Lot
Meet at parking lot on Rt. 36/Ocean Avenue just north of the Rumson/Sea Bright Bridge
Sea Bright - Public Beach
Meet at public beach parking lot in Sea Bright. Turn at traffic light in center of Sea Bright into parking lot for public beach.
Sea Bright- Meet at Merri-makers at Water' Edge
Meet at Merri-makers on Rt. 36/Ocean Avenue in Sea Bright.
Sea Girt
Parkway to Exit 98 to Route 138 East. Take 138E to Route 35 South. Continue south on Route 35 through four lights. At fifth light, (Wachovia Bank on right, Allaire Community Bank on left) turn left onto Sea Girt Avenue. Continue east through two lights and over the railroad tracks. Continue through Sea Girt town (you are now on Washington Boulevard). Bear left at turn. Crescent Park will be on the right. Washington Boulevard ends, and you will be on First Avenue. Continue on First Avenue traveling north to Beacon Boulevard (Parker House on right) and turn right. Head straight to the boardwalk and pavilion.
Spring Lake
From Tinton Falls/Farmingdale, take Rt 34 South. After the Garden State Parkway, take the next circle towards Spring Lake/Allaire/Rt 524 East. Stay on 524 East (cross Rt 71) until it ends at Ocean Avenue. Go right and the South Pavilion is on your left about 3 blocks down.
Union Beach
Take Garden State Parkway South to Exit 117 (not 117 A.) When you get off the exit bear left to Rt. 36 East. Stay on 36 till you get to Union Ave, make the judge handle cross the highway 36 and keep going straight till you get to Jake A Bobs (Seventh light is Union Ave).
