The Rally for the Two Rivers Eco-Fest Returns!

Join us on Saturday, June 1 at Victory Park (rain date: June 2)

This spring, celebrate the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers at the The Rally for the Two Rivers Eco-Fest hosted by Clean Ocean Action and the Rumson Environmental Commission! Eco-Fest is a free, family-friendly event with fun and engaging activities provided by Rally for the Two Rivers partners, including seining, eco-friendly crafts, hands-on educational demonstrations, face painting, music, and more! Read more about the Rally for the Two Rivers Eco-Fest and the Passport Challenge here. Public Hearings Alert on New Jersey's Energy Future!

The NJ Board of Public Utilities (BPU) is holding a series of public hearings in advance of the 2024 update to the Energy Master Plan, a set of overarching goals for NJ energy policy last put forth in 2019. COA encourages the public to attend the meetings:

  • Wednesday, May 22 at 6pm: BPU will discuss maximizing energy efficiency and conservation and reducing peak demand as well as reducing energy consumption and emissions from the building sector.
  • Wednesday, May 29 at 9:30 am: BPU will discuss supporting community energy planning especially in low- and moderate-income and environmental justice communities and expanding the clean energy economy.
  • Monday, June 3 at 1:00pm: final public hearing regarding the 2024 update to the Energy Master Plan.

Wednesday, June 12 at 5pm: Written comments are due.

COA's Cindy Zipf Chosen Among USA TODAY's Women of the Year 2024

Cindy’s unwavering dedication to protecting the ocean and its thriving marine ecosystem has steered COA through four decades of success. The entire COA Crew, board and staff, are so proud and grateful for USA TODAY's decision as we kick off our 40th year with this remarkable news!

“This recognition is in honor of the amazing science, education, research, and advocacy work of the Clean Ocean Action Crew, the dedicated groups, businesses, elected officials, communities, and thousands of remarkable volunteers of all ages! Clean Ocean Action’s virtual EcoGuide for students, teachers, and families is now live! Published in previous years to promote the eco-friendly enjoyment of the Jersey Shore, COA has now taken this mission virtual so that it can be accomplished on-the-go. This comprehensive tool serves as a fun database of the best ways to enjoy marine ecosystems while also protecting them. This includes eco-friendly activities for all ages, educational information on issues that COA addresses, and tips on the best places to appreciate nature in NJ.

The EcoGuide is made possible thanks to generous support from the Marta Heflin Foundation.

Find the EcoGuide linked below, ready for mobile or computer use. The EcoGuide functions on mobile devices most efficiently through the “Google Slides” app, but can also be opened on any internet browser.
